NIT Durgapur PhD Admission 2024: Eligibility, Courses Fees

The National Institute of Technology Durgapur (NITD) caters full-time and part-time PhD Programs for the engineering, science and humanities disciplines. The choice of the PhD candidates is made through a GATE examination (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering), which is a national level test and an interview that is carried out by the institute itself. 

The candidates who have finished a master's degree in the relevant subject area with a minimum of 60% marks or an equivalent CGPA are the only ones who can apply. Applications through newspaper advertisements and the institute website are generally invited for 4-6 months period between spring and summer. The selected candidates will be eligible to get into the GATE exam and post clearing it, the aspirants will have to score above the cut-off for their field of study as set by NITD. Entrance Exams Required for NIT Durgapur PhD Admission 2024

1. IITs and many other institutions scrutinize students for PhD admission through GATE - Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering which is the most important entrance test for engineering and technology programs at NIT Durgapur.   

2. UGC-NET or JRF exam conducted by National Testing Agency is a prerequisite for admission to PhD in humanities and social sciences departments at NIT Durgapur. Candidates for the post should take the national qualification test as it is mandatory.

3. IIM’s CAT is the flagship entrance test that all the candidates who aspire for the PhD at this college have to qualify. Applicants are encouraged to have a valid CAT score above the cut-off.

1. Go for the eligibility criteria which includes the valid GATE/NET score, the minimum percentages in the previous degrees, etc and apply online or offline before the deadline.

2. If you have not yet qualified for GATE/NET, appear for an entrance test administered by the institute itself. Exam test research skill along with the knowledge of the subject.
