Netaji Subhas Open University (NSOU) is one of the largest open universities in India, situated in Kolkata, West Bengal. It has more than 250 programs that are available across all fields at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels.

NSOU follows a very flexible process of admission and anyone who wishes to be a student of NSOU can apply. It is common to have two intakes in a year: the first is in July, and the second is in January. 1. Admission to most undergraduate programs offered by Netaji Subhas Open University is through open entry process; there is no need to take any entrance test before applying. Admission will be determined by entering marks of the qualifying examination.

2. Candidates who want to join the BEd programs, must clear the Joint Entrance Exam conducted by the university or CTET / TET. 

3. For the candidate to be accommodated for MCA program at NSOU, he/she is required to appear for NSOU MCA entrance test which is organized by the university itself. This Aptitude Test helps to check your mathematical ability, analytical ability and general aptitude.

4. To get into the MBA program, candidates need to sit for the CAT/MAT or the NSOU's own management entrance test. This is the case for the range of topics tested including general knowledge, logical reasoning and aptitude.

5. Entrance to the MA in Journalism and Mass Communication program demands the examination of an individual writing and general knowledge as well as aptitude test that is conducted by the university itself.  

6. Besides, a few other master's programs like MSc in Data Science and Geography also demand to clear the relevant entrance exams that test the core concepts of the disciplines along with the quantitative and aptitude skills.
